LINCOLN — Property taxes and Medicaid were the staples for Governor Pete Ricketts in his annual State of the State address in Lincoln.
The second year for the governor will have him pushing for support on his proposal to slow state-wide growth in property taxes and urging lawmakers to reject a package that expands medicaid.
Ricketts also proposed an infrastructure bank to accelerate road and bridge projects.
Finally, he claimed the state can balance it’s budget without tapping into its reserve, though some legislators disagree. The governor’s plan would use unspent money from state agencies to plug holes in the budget.
