LINCOLN — A report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that the number of cattle in large Nebraska feedlots is down 2% from this time last year.
The data was from feedlots with a capacity of more than 1,000 head.
This comes after cattle placements for December were actually up from 2014 totals. Nearly the same amount of fed cattle were marketed in December as the year before.
