CENTRAL CITY — An accident in Merrick County has left one man dead.
Steven Bankson, 53, was headed north on 19th road when his vehicle was struck by an eastbound train at the crossing near U.S. Highway 30.
The accident occurred about 2-1/2 miles northeast of Central City.
Bankson was pronounced dead at the scene.
