LINCOLN — An 87-63 win over Rutgers was an after-thought for Nebraska men’s basketball after Shavon Shields left the game with a head injury.
The forward was taken off the court on a stretcher in the second half after flipping over the back of a Scarlet Knight defender and hitting his head off the court.
The Husker Sports Network reported that Shield was briefly unconscious, but able to move his arms and legs. The Husker athletic website says he underwent a CT scan at the hospital, but the tests were negative.
The senior has been released from the hospital and remains under concussion protocol.
