Access Nebraska has made notable gains, but lawmakers encourage more. Last year, an investigation was put together after complaints of long call-waiting times.
Access Nebraska began in 2008 as a way to help low-income residents apply for the new public health benefits. The system reduced the number of case workers who met with residents in person and relied more on a state website and call centers.
