TAYLOR — This week, Taylor and the surrounding communities came together to help out one of their own.
A pancake dinner was held to raise money for Kelly Dockweiler. The former Loup County teacher has been undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. Jerryl Rose and the rest of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Taylor thought this might be a good way to help out.
“We just got to thinking about it one day that maybe this is a good time to do that,” she explains. “We knew she had to retire from her job and we just decided tit was the thing for the church to do.”
The free-will donation will assist insurance costs as well as travel expenses. Dockweiler’s treatment has been at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
