LINCOLN — A debate is set for this week in the Nebraska Legislature over a bill designed to protect new homes from radon gas.
The measure would set up a task force, which would look for the best construction techniques to keep the cancer-causing agent out of homes.
Nebraska has the third highest radon levels in the nation. The odorless, colorless gas seeps into buildings from the soil.
The task force would report back to lawmakers in 2017.
