ORD — The room was filled at the Valley County Health System Old Rehab Department in Ord this week for a free heart health clinic.
Folks came by to learn more about ways to stay healthy. It’s all part of America Heart Month, which made the timing perfect for organizer Catie Larsen and company.
“I thought we would have a good turn out for the population we have,” Larsen explains. “So, I thought having a cardiologist come in, pick their brain for their knowledge, I thought it would be a good turnout.”
The presentation was led by Dr. Daniel McGowan from Central Nebraska Cardiology. He’s a visiting specialist at VCHS and Larsen adds that the fact that some of these people are his patients makes the information more personal.
