ORD — A fire at a house in Ord on Saturday night is believed to have been started by a battery shorting out.
The Fire Department responded shortly after 8:00 P.M. to the house on N 19th Street, across from Grandview Assisted Living. According to the scanner, no one was in the house when the trucks arrived.
From across the street and down the block, no flames were visible, but there was the smell of something burning.
The home was not significantly damaged.
