LINCOLN — After stopping a bill that would limit the legislatures ability to regulate farming and ranching practices in Nebraska earlier this week, a legislative committee has revived it.
The right-to-farm amendment would prevent lawmakers on passing new regulations on farming and ranching technology without a compelling state interest.
Initially, opponents worried the language was too vague. This edition would allow state and local government to continue regulating water.
Critics still contend that the amendment fails to define agricultural technology.
