ORD — Ord residents will have a chance to vote to re-up a sales tax for economic development this year.
This after the city council approved a resolution this week.
The community approved a 1% local option sales tax in 2001 that was set for a 15-year period. That means it expires at the end of 2016.
This tax is used to fund various economic development projects in the city and, if approved, would start the next 15-year period in 2017.
The vote will be part of the Nebraska primary on May 10th.
