LINCOLN — Nebraska lawmakers have advanced a bill that outlines a new way fro primary care agreements to work in the state.
This would allow patients to pay practitioners directly for consultations and physicals rather than going through an insurance company.
Supporters of the measure say it minimizes regulations and promotes a better relationship between caregivers and patients.
On the other side, opponents worry that individuals will need additional health coverage to comply with federal requirements because direct primary care agreements don’t constitute insurance.
