ORD — Central Community College in Ord hosted a generational differences lunch-and-learn this week.
Folks came by with the goal of creating a more understanding environment in the workplace. “I think it kind of gives them a little sense of ‘ah hah’ moments to think about ‘Oh, that’s why my co-worker reacts the way they do’,” says CCC’s Regina Rathman. “‘They’re of a different generation and, therefore, I can maybe understand them a little bit better’.”
Attendees split into different groups to create a more diverse experience before playing games and learning about different generational upbringings.
Rathman adds that employers should always focus on the best candidate when hiring, but understand that having a diverse age group in an office is not a bad thing.
