LINCOLN — Lawmakers in the Nebraska Unicameral have shelved a bill for this year that would ban workplace discrimination against members of the LGBT community.
Advocates argued that the state couldn’t draw talent to Nebraska without these protections. On the other side, opponents worried that these would burden small businesses and argue that discrimination is not a statewide problem.
The bill also lacked support in last year’s legislative session.
