MADISON — An effort to oust the mayor has begun in Madison.
Alvin Brandl was elected in November 2014 and has since been criticized for his appointment to various city boards.
A document filed in Madison County says the mayor should be recalled because his appointments have caused “needless conflict, confrontation and the inability of the city to function properly”.
Brandl counters that he is doing his duty as mayor.
The recall petition needs 170 registered voters to sign it for a special election to be held.
