LINCOLN — Nebraska may soon be a winner-take-all state in presidential elections.
A measure has won second-round approval in the legislature that would give the winner of the state every electoral vote. Currently, two votes go to the states winner and the remaining three are split by congressional district.
This created a situation in 2008 where Barack Obama took some electoral votes in the state.
Nebraska and Maine are the only states where it’s possible to split electoral votes.
