GRAND ISLAND — The superintendent of Shelton Public Schools is facing assault and other charges.
Brian Redinger, 46, was arrested over the weekend for hitting and choking a woman as they drove through rural Hall County.
Bail for Redinger was set at $50,000.
The president of the Shelton school board says the district is working with law enforcement, but had no further comment.
