LINCOLN — Nebraska republicans failed to overcome a filibuster and allow a winner-take-all bill to advance in the Nebraska Legislature.
The measure would have awarded the winner of the state all of its electoral votes in a presidential election.
Currently, Nebraska gives one vote to the winner of each congressional district and the other two to the statewide winner. This allowed Barack Obama to win one electoral vote in 2008 after he won a congressional district in the Omaha area.
