LINCOLN — A report from the Nebraska Department of Revenue says the state collected 5% less than expected in taxes for March.
The state’s net receipts totaled $16 million less than projected. Net individual and corporate income tax collections came in lower than projected, as did net sales-and-use taxes.
Net miscellaneous tax receipts were higher.
Overall, net tax collections for the fiscal year are less than 1% below projections. These were made in October by the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board and help determine how much money lawmakers have at their disposal.
