LINCOLN — An effort to repair Nebraska’s infrastructure has proven successful this legislative session.
Governor Ricketts has signed a bill that would create a $450 million state fund for highway construction projects. The infrastructure bank would pay for work through 2033.
It will be financed with $50 million from a cash reserve and use additional revenue from the state’s gas tax increase from a year ago.
Ricketts, along with tourism and economic groups in the state, praised the measure as essential to Nebraska’s longevity.
