LINCOLN — A Nebraska hotel company and an executive have been given probation and fined for unlawfully employing somebody in the country illegally.
Paul Younes was given five years probation and fined $3,000, while Kearney Hospitality, Inc. was fined $150,000 and was also given five years probation.
Prosecutors say a Mexican citizen, who was working at a Hastings hotel, operated by Kearney Hospitality, quit in 2014, as she was being investigated.
Younes then allegedly arranged a job for her under a different name at a motel in Kearney, also operated by the company. She later returned under a different name to the Hastings hotel.
