GRAND ISLAND — The man pulled from the Platte River near Grand Island could be facing charges related to a high-speed chase.
The chase began Saturday afternoon near Lewellen when a state tropper contacted the driver of a pickup, who had blocked a county road. The pickup soon raced away leading to a chase that continued on U.S. Highway 30 and Interstate-80 until stop sticks punctured the pickup’s tires near Alda and it ran off the highway then into the river.
The man was taken to the hospital and then to jail.
