SOUTH YANKTON — A collision in Cedar County has left a woman and her son dead.
The accident occurred Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 81 near the South Dakota border.
The Nebraska State Patrol says Laura Suhr was driving a north-bound car that crossed the center line and hit an oncoming semitrailer. The Norfolk resident died at the scene while her two-year-old son, Sean, died at the hospital.
An 11-year-old girl traveling with them was taken to a hospital in Yankton, South Dakota. Additional information on her status was not available.
The truck driver was not injured.
