LINCOLN — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is getting closer to starting a research on using hemp as a field crop.
The institution’s Agronomy and Horticulture Department received a permit last week that will allow the research to go through. However, they are still waiting for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency to approve the importation of seeds.
If approved, the hope is to have seeds in the ground this year.
