ST. PAUL — A state-wide tractor relay is set to make stops in central Nebraska.
From June 4th until June 12th, the Antique Farming Association is sponsoring the Tractor Relay Across Nebraska. The full trip runs from Beatrice to Scottsbluff.
The event features stops in St. Paul on Monday June 6th, Broken Bow on June 7th, and Thedford on June 8th. Donelle Moormeier helps organize the event. She says it’s become something that brings people together.
“We have kind of a close-knit family of tractor drivers, now,” she explains. “You become great friends with the people that are on these drives, a lot of camaraderie going on and everybody likes to talk about their tractors and enjoy hearing everybody’s stories.
“It really becomes a tractor family,” Moormeier adds.
This is the fifth version of the relay and all proceeds are set to go to Operation Comfort Warriors. This is an organization that helps meet the needs of wounded, injured, or ill military personnel.
In addition, at each stop, events are set up to celebrate. That includes St. Paul where folks are invtged to the legion club beginning at 6:00 P.M. for a donation meal and entertainment from the Kramer Sisters.
The tractors are scheduled to arrive from Hastings at about 7:00 P.M.
