DUNNING, Neb.– Blaine and Thomas County residents are being asked to be on the watch for a man Sheriff’s Deputies believe to be armed and dangerous.
Thomas County and Blaine County Sheriff’s Departments sent out a Code Red Alert to Region 26.
Officials told Thedford and Sandhills Schools to be on the look out for a man on a camouflage side-by-side ATV.
Officials consider him armed and dangerous and ask that people do not approach him.
They ask if you do see him, to please call 911.
Both Schools were on lock down for most of the day.
Dale Hafer, Superintendent of Sandhills Public Schools, says they were told to stay on the look out and to take extra precautionary measures within the school.
The Schools were first alerted around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday Morning.
The schools have not been notified that the situation is over yet but they do not believe there is an imminent threat to the school at the moment.
