According to Region #26 in Taylor, NE, the fire burning in Loup County has been contained. The fire continues to burn, however it is contained and under control. The Loup County Volunteer Fire Department has released outside departments.
The fire in Sherman county continues to burn and has not yet been contained. The fire originated in Valley county near Arcadia this afternoon and jumped into Sherman county where is has done major damage. Many homes have been evacuated, including homes South of Setlik’s feedlot as well as Trail #12 and the North Side of Sherman Reservoir. It was reported that the fire got within 20 to 30 feet of the home of Tom Setlik. At this time, Law Enforcement, Fire Departments and volunteers continue to attempt to bring the fire into containment. There is a plane in the air assisting with the efforts.
