The 2016-2017 Nebraska High School Bowling Federation (NHSBF) State Tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday, February 11-12 at Sun Valley Lanes, Parkway Lanes, and Hollywood Bowl in Lincoln. Bowlers from Burwell/Ord High Schools will be participating in this year’s event.
The Burwell/Ord girls advanced to the State Tournament by finishing second in the Girls District competition with a grand total of 2467. The top four teams go on to the state event. Molly Mares, Kathleen Deaver, and Callin Benda led the way for Burwell/Ord in districts. Mares had a three game total of 540 to lead all bowlers. Deaver rolled 412 over three games and Benda totaled 374.
The boys of Burwell/Ord won the C1 District title with a grand total of 2826. Johnathan Kant, Zachary Flessner, Aaron White, and Christapher White finished first, second, third, and sixth respectively of the sixteen bowlers who participated.
