The Goldenrod Conference hosted its conference speech meet on Wednesday, February 22 at St. Edward. Burwell High School finished first with 290 points, followed by second place Nebraska Christian with 257 points, third place Humphrey St. Francis with 161, and fourth place Spalding Academy with 154.
The Burwell Longhorn speech team had 11 of 18 events move into final speaking rounds. Meet champions include Tressa Reiner in Informative Speaking and Weston Svoboda in Extemporaneous Speaking.
