The Ord City Council held its regular monthly meeting last night. On the docket, Alan Petska requested a “30-Minute Parking” sign outside his business at 140 S. 15th Street. The Council approved the request.
Also, the Council voted to shut down the town pool for 2018 in order to build a new aquatic center, scheduled to open in 2019.
The Council decided not to move on plans to pave 250 feet of road on 10th Street and Q Street. Some citizens expressed concern that this project would result in a significant tax increase for retirees and senior citizens.
City Attorney Heather Sikyta was granted permission to revise a draft of an ordinance that would prohibit citizens from disposing of trash in business dumpsters.
And in a unanimous vote, Dan Petska was reappointed to the Valley County Economic Development Board.
The Ord City Council will meet again on May 1.
