Judge Karin Noakes presided over Valley County District Court.
In the courtroom, a hearing was held for Jocelyn Nordin. Nordin is currently in jail, accused in the death of her 1 month old daughter in May 2016. Nordin reportedly has a history of child abuse. After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Noakes ordered that the hearing remain open.
Also, Tyler Pickett was sentenced to three years in the Nebraska Department of Corrections and 18 months of post-release supervision for possession and distribution. Pickett previously pleaded guilty to the charge. He was credited with 295 days already served. Pickett was remanded into the custody of the sheriff.
Raquel Bloom pleaded not guilty to charges of tampering with physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pretrial is set for August 22.
In a plea agreement, Nicholas Heron pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance. Sentencing is scheduled for May 23.
And in another plea agreement, Matthew Camez pleaded no contest to one count of terroristic threats. Sentencing is set for June 20.
