The Valley County Sheriff’s Office reports that 47-year-old Brian L. Welniak of Elyria, Nebraska, was booked into Valley County Jail for Valley County for failure to appear on DUI charges, driving while revoked, no proof of insurance, and no registration in vehicle. Welniak was later bonded out, pending court appearance.
31-year-old Tyler C. PIckett, of North Platte, Nebraska, was transferred from Valley County to the D&E Center to serve his sentence.
Currently, there are five inmates housed in Valley County Jail: one from Valley County, one from Sherman County, one from Custer County, and two from Garfield County.
