As the 2017 graduates prepare for the next stage of their lives, several long-time Ord public school educators are doing the same.
In an online newsletter, Ord public school superintendent, Jason Alexander, recognized the following teachers and coaches for their years of service to the district:
Ron Bauer – retiring after 18 years at Ord and a total of 41 years as an educator. Bauer was instrumental in the development of athletic programs.
Kay Novotny – retiring after 31 years at Ord Elementary. Alexander wrote, “it could be argued that over 650 students were impacted by Mrs. Novotny over 31 years of service.”
Wendy Alexander – leaves after 11 years in the Ord Public Schools district as chemistry/physics teacher. Alexander also built a tremendously successful Chant volleyball program.
Jan Keller – retiring after 23 years with Ord Public Schools. Keller built the art program into an award winner with a standard of excellence respected across the state.
Dave Lueck – retiring after 10 years with Ord Public Schools, as well as 1 year at St. Mary’s, and 22 years at Vinton Schools.
Best wishes to all!
