At the latest Ord Board of Education meeting, some parents in the district expressed concern about the 8th grade math textbook that 7th graders have been using this school year. Parents believe that students “have not been taught the skills” necessary to do the math presented in this particular textbook.
Parents are also concerned about placement in math courses in the upcoming school year.
Board member, Bill Ziegler, said, “The math curriculum committee will continue to address this issue.”
Also, the board approved contracts for a new Social Studies/Counselor position and for a Math teacher.
The board approved the proposal to have concrete work done at the schools.
Michelle Bruha was approved as a new Ord Public Schools Foundation member.
