On Tuesday, May 16, the Loup River Bridge on Highway 70 north of Ord will be reduced to one lane traffic to facilitate the construction of a new bridge at this location.
This lane reduction will reduce traffic to a 10-foot width limit and will be controlled by stop lights on both the east and west side of the bridge, while shifting traffic onto a newly created hard surfaced temporary roadway.
This width restriction will be in effect throughout the summer of 2017 with anticipation of the first phase of the new bridge to be completed by November of 2017.
