Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin May 30 on NE-Highway 7, 18 miles north of Brewster and extending 6 miles north, according to Nebraska Department of Roads.
Werner Construction, Inc. of Hastings, Nebraska has the contract for the project, which includes milling, asphalt overlay, bridge and guardrail repair, and rumble strips. There will be a 10-foot width restriction at the Calamus River Bridge from May 31 to June 9. Lane closures will be in place and traffic maintained with flaggers and a pilot car.
Motorists can expect delays and are advised to use caution while driving through construction zones.
The anticipated completion is late August.
