On Wednesday, June 7, eight 4-H ers and four adults had a day of fun and learning at the Pea Patch on the Loup Garfield County line. The participants learned about plant and seed identification and horticulture judging. They talked about different kinds of plants and how to tell the difference between a flower and a vegetable plant.
Also, there was a horticulture contest and then participants planted their own flowers. Their potted plant exhibits will be on display at the County Fair.
The judging contest was won by Aiva Koenigsberg with a score of 224, earning a purple ribbon. Second place went to Josiah Koenigsberg with a score of 207, earning a blue ribbon. In third place was Avery Mann with a score of 194 to earn a blue ribbon.
There were five Clover Kid participants: Hutton Svoboda, Kason Orent, Peyten Short, Laurel Mann, and Charly Svoboda and four adult participants: Sarah Gumb, Garrett Mann, Becky Mann, and Cari Koenigsberg.
