A Northeastern Nebraska country singer who performed at the Thayer County Fair over the weekend has died after a crash at the fairgrounds.
25-year-old Abby Uecker, who performed under the name Abby Nicole, died early Sunday after an accident involving a utility vehicle.
The Nebraska State Patrol found the singer around 4:20 am Sunday. Uecker was taken to Thayer County Health Services in Hebron where she died around 5:30 am Sunday.
Uecker was scheduled to perform Thursday July 27, at the Dance in the Bull Pen Beer Garden after the Burwell Rodeo. The rodeo board is currently looking for a replacement performer. Uecker was also scheduled to perform for the Rock County Fair Thursday, Aug. 3 immediately after the Ranch Bronc Riding.
