The Nebraska State Fair has selected Grand Marshals for the 2017 fair.
Grand Marshals are selected that the fair board believes represent the best of the best from agriculture. Grand Marshals in the surrounding area include: LaVonne McGraw, from Broken Bow; Robert Vobroil, from Columbus; Dave Wamberg, from Fullerton.
LaVonne McGraw of Broken Bow has been selected to serve as the Grand Marshal for the Nebraska State Fair Celebration parade on Sunday, Aug. 27. LaVonne has served as Superintendent of the Agriculture Hall, assigning volunteers and organizing the Open Class entries for the Custer County Fair.
Robert Voboril of Columbus has been selected to serve as the Grand Marshal on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Platte County Ag Society Hall of Famer, Voboril has served 35 years with the University of Nebraska Extension as an educator. As the Platte County extension agent he ran a successful 4-H, FFA and open class at the fair.
Lastly, Dave Wamberg of Fullerton has been selected to serve as the Grand Marshal on Sunday, Sept. 3. Wamberg has been involved in the Nance County Fair for almost 20 years.
The long tradition of Grand Marshals is always represented by persons who are most worthy of the distinction becuase of the excellent work they do.
