Registration deadline for the basic canning class offered by Nebraska Extension is at noon on Wednesday Sept. 13. The class is scheduled for this Thursday, Sept. 14 at the St. Mary’s School Kitchen, 527 N. 20th in Ord. It will start at 6:00 p.m.
David Lott, District Horticulture Educator, from North Platte, and Kayla Hinrichs, Extension Educator inthe Central IV Extension region, will be the presenters.
The class will include teaching salsa variation, with an emphasis on combinations that are USDA tested to be safe to make at home and delicious.
The fee for the class is $15 fee which you can pay when registering at the Nebraska Extension Office on the fairgrounds (801 S Street) in Ord. Each participant will receive a jar of salsa to take home and enjoy.
