The Holt County Sheriff’s Department, Atkinson Police Department and Atkinson Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident around 3 p.m. on Friday, September 29, on Hwy. 11, six miles south of Atkinson.
The driver, 69-year- old Warren Wondercheck, was found by a nearby resident while moving cattle. Wondercheck had been reported missing since Aug. 23.
Police reports say the motorcycle was northbound on Hwy. 11 and left the roadway to the east, became airborne and struck a tree ejecting Wondercheck from the motorcycle.
It is believed the accident occurred on or about Aug. 23 but the time is unknown.
The accident remains under investigation and an autopsy has been ordered.
