At approximately, 8:20 pm, last night, (Wednesday, Oct. 11) three patients were sent to St. Anthony’s Hospital after a two vehicle accident.
Traffic was stopped for a few hours after the crash as it was blocking the road in front of Plain Equipment.
Paige Korth age 19 of Blaire was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus with an infant occupant in a car seat in the back of the vehicle. 48-year-old Tamie Payton of Renner was driving the 3/4 ton Dodge pickup that collided head on with Korth who was passing another vehicle without any headlights on at night.
Payton’s vehicle drove up on top of the Korth’s vehicle and spun her vehicle around to rollover onto it’s top.
Korth was trapped in her vehicle. Her and her infant had to be extricated from her vehicle with the jaws of life.
After being taken to the St. Anthony’s, the infant and Payton were both released from the hospital. Korth was life flighted to the UNMC in Omaha due to her injuries.
The investigation of the accident is on going. The O’Neill Police Department, Holt County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and the O’Neill Fire Department all responded to the scene.
