WASHINGTON U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement today after Chief Judge Laurie Smith Camp announced she will take senior status on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska effective December 1, 2018:
Chief Judge Laurie Smith Camp is a role model for all Nebraskans. On the Nebraska federal bench, she has served the people of our state with integrity and excellence. Her professionalism leaves a legacy for all jurists who will succeed her to follow. I wish my friend all the best.
Senators Fischer and Sasse will soon announce the application process for Nebraskans interested in filling Chief Judge Smith Camps vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska.
