The Central Nebraska Economic Development District announced nearly $1 million in 2017 grants has been awarded to the Central Nebraska region through community partnerships with the District.
“We feel very fortunate to have been successful in having $199,867 in total grant funds awarded to communities in our region. There are tremendous housing and planning activities that will take place in the next 2 years, resulting in economic improvements through these grant funds. An additional $281,575 was contributed to the projects through cash matching funds from the communities,” says Judy Peterson, CNEDD Executive Director.
The following state and federal grants were recently awarded by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
- City of Ainsworth – CDBG Planning Grant – $19,719 coupled with $7,675 in NIFA Housing Study Grant Funds
- City of Arcadia – Trust Fund Rental Duplex Construction Project – $192,925 coupled with $135,000 in matching funds
- Village of Comstock – CDBG Owner-Occupied Housing Rehab Grant – $189,000
- Village of Greeley – CDBG Owner-Occupied Hosing Rehab Grant – $189,000
- Village of Stuart – Trust Fund Rental Duplex Construction Project – $172,225 coupled with $100,000 in matching funds
- Central Nebraska Economic Development Inc. – Trust Fund Down Payment Assistance with Minor Rehab Project – $189,000 coupled with $18,900 in matching funds from the cities of Broken Bow, O’Neill, Stuart and Valentine.
- Central Nebraska Economic Development Inc. – Trust Fund Technical Assistance – $40,000 coupled with $20,000 in matching funds.
