The first day of winter has started off with slippery roads in Valley County. The new stretch of Highway 70 between Arcadia and Ord has several areas of black ice that has been the cause for several accidents, including vehicles in the ditches and a couple of rollovers.
Valley County sheriff Casey Hulburt has advised folks to drive with extra caution.
The Loup City clinic is closed today because of the slippery roads.
