The Class C-1, No. 2 Ord Lady Chanticleers soured on the court Saturday evening to beat the Class C-2, No. 5 Ravenna Lady Bluejays.
Ord will go into their final season games with a perfect record of 21-0, leaving the Bluejays with a 17-4 record.
Seniors Ali Smith and Delani Fahey controlled the court early in the game, but all five starters had at least eight points going into the half. With state just one month away, Ord Chanticleers are looking to go all the way.
As high scorer, senior Madi Hagge had 16 points, three of which were 3-pointers. Ord was patient with their shooting Saturday night with four makes out of only 11 three-point attempts.
Ravenna came out in the second half with fire, putting on the full court pressure, but it was no match for the Chants press brake and 3-point hand from Hagge to keep the lead.
At the final buzzer, Hagge led Ord with eight rebounds and three assists. Smith had 12 points and was 7 of 10 at the free-throw line. Fahey had 10 points while hill racked up nine herself. For the powerhouse down under the basket, Danielle Wray put up eight points to help defeat the Bluejays.
Ord moves on this week to play on their own court against the 12-9 Broken Bow Indians.
