The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Blizzard Warning for Phillips-Valley-Greeley-Sherman-Dawson-Buffalo-Gosper-Phelps-Kearney-Furnas-Harlan counties.
As of Thursday, April 12, projected snow inches for Ord are 8-12″, Valentine 12-18″, O’Neill 12-18″, Loup City 8-12″, Fullerton 4-6″.
Timing can be expected to be before noon in West Nebraska and noon to 6 North of Kearney.
Winds will gust up to nearly 50 mph in Ord with a 4 degree windchill, 52 in Loup City with 6 degree wind chills, 48 in Fullerton with 16 degree windchills.
Confidence of this early spring storm for the NWS is medium. They are highly confident with wind projections and medium to high with timing.
We can expect near impossible travel during the blizzard, with low visibility due to blowing snow, and heavy snow fall at times.
Sunday temps look promising with a high between 35 to 48 degrees and lows of 15 to 20 Sunday night.
Into next week temps will continue to rise.
