April 24, 2018 (GRAND ISLAND, NEB) – On Friday, April 20, investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) conducted alcohol inspections in Hamilton and Merrick Counties. Six NSP investigators participated in the operation. The inspections were made possible thanks in part to a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
A total of 33 businesses were inspected. Two of the businesses sold alcohol to a minor, while only one business failed to check the minors ID. The non-compliance rate was 6%.
The businesses that failed the inspections were:
Silver Creek Mini Mart – Silver Creek (did not check ID, sold to minor)
Independent Club – Central City (checked ID, sold to minor)
All 13 businesses inspected in Hamilton County passed. Businesses that fail the inspection are reported to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
