ORD, Neb. — Valley County Health System (VCHS) welcomes Rakesh Srivastava, an American Board Certified Prosthetists and Orthotist to the VCHS Specialty Clinic. Srivastava is the founder and CEO of Innovative Prosthetics and Orthotics in Omaha, Hastings and Grand Island and began seeing patients May 4. He will see patients at the VCHS Specialty Clinic the first Friday of every month.
Srivastava, originally from Inda, received his degree from the National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research. In 1997, he moved to the United States, attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney for Grad School, completed his residency and soon after became an American Board of Certified Prosthetists and Orthotist. Srivastava also holds a certification for working with Microprocessor knees, Scoliosis Bracing and Cascade DAFO for Pediatrics.
He is now part of a research team at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in a program called Cyborg Beast, where they are developing an affordable and innovative prosthetic hand that has been created utilizing 3D printing technology.
