On July 3, 2018, at approximately 0040 hrs, an officer with the Ord Police Department made a vehicle stop with a pickup with no license plates.
The officer contacted the driver of the vehicle, identified as Kevan Edzards, age 42 of Ord.
Based on information from another law enforcement agency, and in speaking with Edzards, the officer developed suspicion that Edzards was involved in transporting illegal drugs.
Edzards consented to a search of his vehicle, and the deputy found a case containing a vial of methamphetamine, prescription medication and drug paraphernalia.
The officer made arrangements for the care of the 15 year old child with Edzards, and transported Edzards to the Valley County Sheriffs Office where Edzards was booked into jail for: Possession of a controlled substance; Possession of an exceptionally hazardous drug with the intent to distribute; Possession of a legend drug; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Unlawful acts and Contributing to the delinquency of a child.
